Jessie Denver
CEO / Founder
Jessie founded GroupEnergy with the goal of making comprehensive energy improvements simple and cost effective for property owners. With over 15 years of experience, Jessie provides strategic and creative leadership for the company. Prior to GroupEnergy, Jessie served as the City of San Jose's Community Solar Program Coordinator and Energy Officer overseeing multiple energy efficiency and renewable energy projects and grant awards. Her work on the Department of Energy Solar America City program led to the implementation of large scale municipal Power Purchase Agreements and streamlined permitting and inspection processes. She developed the first of its kind collaborative solar purchasing model for employee groups and led the construction of the Green Vision Clean Energy Showcase. Jessie is a faculty member in the Environmental Studies Department at San Jose State University where she teaches Green Building Design, and at University of California Berkeley Extension leading the Energy for Sustainability course.
Kevin Armstrong
Director of Energy Programs
Prior to joining GroupEnergy as the Director of Energy Programs, Kevin was a member of the San Jose Green Vision – Municipal Renewable Energy Program Team where he lead and supported various project initiatives to implement the City's goal of powering all municipal facilities with 100% renewable electricity.� The Municipal Energy Program utilized federal funding and included projects such as a 28-site solar power purchase agreement (PPA) procurement process (10+MW), a city facility audit and analysis procurement, and individual procurements for solar and fuel cell installations at both the City Hall and Water Pollution Control Plant facilities.�Prior to joining City of San Jose, Kevin managed the financing and pre-development for Solar Genesis, a 330kW solar photovoltaic installation at the San Mateo County Center Parking Garage. Kevin has Master's degrees in Civil Engineering and City and Regional Planning from UC Berkeley, a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Stanford University,�and is a LEED AP.
